With several top-class restaurants around Jakarta are now rejuvenating their Sunday Brunch concept, my recent visit to Scusa at InterContinental Jakarta Midplaza was among the most memorable. Not only in terms of food that Scusa is now getting more prepared than ever, but there’s something else that makes it more exciting.
As a long standing, fine-dining style Italian restaurant; Scusa has been in my heart earlier than the first time I introduced myself to other five-star hotels’ restaurants in Jakarta, regardless of the genre. Several chefs have been reigning over this establishment but now as the incumbent master of the house, Chef Gianluca Visciglia revives the glorious Italian spirit once more.
Before getting ourselves talking about the food, the first and foremost gimmick that makes Scusa has that edge for its Sunday Brunch is that you don’t need to move an inch from where you’re seated! Just simply sit down, relax, and have a great time with your friends and family while the experienced team of Scusa will prepare the best from the kitchen and serve the food straight to your table.
It all began with a generous antipasti for sharing and then came next for your time to choose the primi and secondi. You can order as many as you like from a vast array of fresh pasta available and also the pizza. I personally had my risotto and I couldn’t help to finish it all off even after a plate of ravioli before!
The best part came soon afterwards. It’s time for you to choose the land or the sea. Of course, when we are talking about the latter, it’s an array of frutti di mare ready to be grilled. I picked the ones from the land and it was the ribs from great other choices such as tenderloin, sirloin, chicken, and also quail.
And so, the story goes on and on and on. Sunday Brunch calls for a celebration of life and the best time to gather around your loved ones. With this initiative, you would not need to stroll around and look for food but instead they finally found their way to your dining table. But of course, you can always pick it by yourself, especially the desserts. From cheese platter, fruits, to Italian classic pastries; it’s a must-not miss. So it’s best to save up some space for this one.
The Sunday Brunch at Scusa will be priced at IDR 395,000++ and will start soon in August 2015. So, be sure to book right away and enjoy the best Italian-style brunch as devised cleverly by a spirited Italian chef!
