If you are a fan of old coffee shop, not necessarily has to be all about kopitiam and the kaya toasts with eggs, then of course you would notice already about the famous Kopi Es Tak Kie.

Since I will be fully reporting the whole story on another post very soon, at least allow me to share you my reminiscing moment about the coffee.

Kopi Es Tak Kie 2

Heading inside an alley where street food is a common sight to see, Kopi Es Tak Kie has been around for many decades now. Still retaining its original look for years now, it happens as well with their coffee menu – even though they eventually turned into a restaurant with limited menu like nasi campur.

Made from coffee beans imported from our very own Lampung province, the coffee is brewed since morning and upon request, they will reheat it or add the ice with milk. The result was a clean, satisfactory coffee especially the one with ice cubes and milk. As for the black, you might feel that it is way too clean and cannot be characterized by something distinctive.

Nevertheless, this is how Kopi Es Tak Kie runs its business and brews the coffee. Its historical values are beyond comparison and people will still keep on flocking in no matter what, either to eat or to have that cuppa. I hope that the legacy will be continued strongly by the family’s descendants.
