Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta will once again host a Two-Michelin Star Chef by flying in Chef Jerome Nutile from Collias, France to its renowned French restaurant, Lyon. From 28 to 30 November 2013, Chef Nutile, a master in the art of making French cuisine, will present the guests a range of his signature contemporary French cuisine using only the highest quality products.
Chef Nutile is the owner and head chef at the charming Le Castellas restaurant in Collias, France. He was awarded his first Michelin star in 2006. Later in 2007, he received the title of Master Restaurant Chef, and earned his second Michelin star in 2009. The culmination of his career came in 2011 with the prestigious title in the world, Meillieur Ouvrier de France (The Best Maestro of France).
Chef Nutile has been working in a number of Michelin-starred restaurants including L’Abbaye de Sainte Croix in Salon-de-Provence, Au Chabichou le Chenus in Courchevel, and spent four years working with Georges Blanc, a three Michelin-star chef.
Chef Nutile describes his own cooking as simple and contemporary with respect to the product. “My cooking is contemporary in style,” he explains, “and I only use high quality products. I endeavor to look for subtle flavors, to improve techniques, to find the right cooking method and to find the perfect food combinations to provide gourmet pleasure to everyone.”
