Alila Jakarta Prepares for Classic Holiday Hospitality
Over the month of December through to New Years Day Alila hotel and guests are reserving their places for memorable lunches and dinners and hotel dine and stay packages. Often considered Jakarta’s best place to be over the holidays, the Alila Jakarta is year in, year out, lauded as one of the city’s most admired hotels.
The hotel’s festive season starts on December 1 through to December 30 with a daily, three-course set lunch and dinner menu at Buzz restaurant.Three tantalizing courses include:

  • Seared tuna saladine with green apple salad ginger vinaigrette and black olive oil.
  • Apricot stuffed duck breast with crisp fennel bread robe, homemade cranberry jam, hasselback potatoes, Calvados gravy and braised red cabbage.
  • Finish with gingerbread and passion fruit bavarois with stewed cherries, hazelnut biscotti and milk sherbet along with coffee or tea and delightful “petit fours.”

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in the Indonesian capital requires a setting and hosts who understand the exact details of a successful Yuletide occasion. Buzz restaurant is always a city favorite milieu during the festive season and the formula starts with a five-course set lunch menu that attracts a variety of local and international  guests who simply relish classic holiday fare.

  • Chestnut salad with roasted duck, hazelnut, frisee and pear.
  • Spiced sweet potato soup with scallops ravioli and tomato oil.
  • Apricot stuffed duck breast with crisp fennel bread robe, homemade cranberry jam, hasselback potatoes, Calvados gravy and braised red cabbage or grilled rock lobster with crab and truffle tortellini, buttered bok choy and lemon butter bisque juice.
  • Gingerbread and passion fruit bavarois with stewed cherries, hazelnut biscotti and milk sherbet.
  • Finish with coffee or tea along with chocolate truffle, mince pie and Christmas cookies.

This year Buzz restaurant’s New Years Buffet is aptly titled “Party the World Buffet” offering an international selection of dishes from all continents.

  • Cold appetizers: salmon Bellevue, Shrimps pyramid with two flavored sauces, smoked fish parade with condiments, fine gourmet cold cuts, and freshly prepared sushi.
  • Abundant cold salad bar includes: all lettuce and vegetables and a selection of dressings, Hawaiian chicken salad, Indonesian salads, sea scallop salad with artichoke, melon and lemon dressing, curried rice salad with seafood, mixed green salad with garlic croutons, beef bacon and goat cheese, Caesar salad, and selection of international cheese and bread.
  • Two hot soups on offer: oxtail and lobster clam chowder.
  • Hot dishes: baked salmon, spinach in herb crust with saffron sauce, chicken breast with spinach and mushrooms, beef bacon, pearl onions with red wine sauce and garlic, stuffed zucchinis, vegetable symphony, cheese potato mash
  • The carving station includes: beef Wellington
  • The Mexican cantina offers: nachos, tacos, dips, taco meat, guacamole, cheddar cheese, tomato salsa, sour cream as well as chicken and beef tortilla.
  • The Arab meat station, Shawerma, serves BBQ meats and oriental rice.
  • Asian specialties include: stir-fried noodles with vegetables, chicken and shrimps, roasted duck with hoi sin sauce, mandarin pancakes and mixed satay.
  • Continental items include: New Years pasta with lobster sauce, goat cheese and peppers, roasted veal loin with thyme and red wine and foie gras sauce and “party” saffron paella with fresh mussels, jumbo shrimps, calamari and chicken.
  • Deserts to look for are wide ranging although expect the classics such as apple-strudel, mixed fruit mousse, creme brule, mini tarts and Indonesian sweets with a “show” desert of crepe suzette and Ice cream.

New Years Brunch at Alila’s Buzz restaurant is one of the city’s most notable ways to begin the New Year. A brunch on the first day of the year requires the best of fresh items for a new start.

  • Salad bars are a New Years Day tradition on most of the world and none do it better than Alila Jakarta: Red tuna nicoise, grilled vegetable salad, Thai beef salad, gado-gado, otak-otak, empek-empek, devilled eggs, shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon with condiments, yogurt and cereal and a multitude of cheese.
  • The three-hour brunch includes such hot items as: design your own omelets, wood oven pizza, grilled sausages, minute steak, New Years dim sum trolley, mie ayam, sauté broccoli with garlic and mushrooms, roasted Chinese duck, Indonesian chicken curry, roasted lamb leg with rosemary sauce, fried fish filet with Szechuan sauce, roasted potato with beef bacon and pasta with seafood.
  • New Years Day sweets include: Coffee mousse, orange crepes, assorted fruit, selection of French pastry, chocolates mocha torte, Indonesian sweets and es campur, spiced mocha, chocolate crème caramel, sweet bread, muffins, croissants and Danish, and a New Years bread selection.
  • Wonderful hot and cold drinks include: Teachino, coffee station, banana smoothie, blueberry smoothie and freshly prepared juices.
