Culinary Events March 2012

It is with such pleasure to introduce you all my dear readers with my monthly culinary calendar!

Starting this March, I will post a monthly article and will be updated anytime I receive new information about food events, new dishes, new chefs, and et cetera.

My personal highlight for March would be the return of Michelin-starred chef Nicolas Isnard to Lyon, Mandarin Oriental Jakarta on 29-31 March 2012.

So without further ado, herewith I present you the Culinary Events for March 2012.

  • WELCOMING BACK MICHELIN STAR CHEF NICOLAS ISNARD

Chef Nicolas successfully amazed Jakarta’s food lovers for the first time last year in March 2011. His cuisine combines modern techniques without forgetting the original and traditional taste of French cuisine. One of his sensational dishes last year was a new version of onion soup with black truffles. He made this classic traditional French soup with onion ice cream, leaving an exciting sensation on the guest’s palate between the coldness of ice cream and the hot temperature of the soup. Chef Nicolas is famous for dishing up distinctive rustic flavors and aims to bring a fresh approach to sublime old-school French cuisine.

Indulge in Chef Isnard’s unique and appetising dishes in Lyon restaurant with either a two-course menu priced at IDR 620,000++, or a three-course menu priced at IDR 780,000++ or a six-course degustation menu at IDR 1,500,000++. Seize the opportunity to try the Michelin-star chef experience with dishes such as Sea Scallop with Beetroot Caviar, Grapefruit and Coconut Milk; Lobster Wasabi with Hummus and Lemongrass Broth and mouth-watering desserts such as Sphere Pinacolada and Passion Lacté.

Or if you would like to experience the complete journey with the the chef, sign up for a private table hosted by Chef Nicolas himself. Take the oportunity to interact and tailor your own degustation menu that includes Champagne and a guided tour through the kitchen during service.   • BISTROT BUSINESS LUNCH 

    VENUE: ORIENT8, HOTEL MULIA JAKARTA

Chef Florian Lamelot, a decorated French chef that has catered celebrities and perfected his cooking skills in Michelin-starred restaurants, presents you with The Bistrot Business Lunch to cater Jakartans needs for simple, quick, affordable yet delicious lunch. Available from Monday to Saturday, enjoy the newly-created of 2-course and 3-course French set menus from ranging price at IDR 120,000++ up to IDR 220,000++ per person.

  • EVERYDAY IS A SPECIAL DAY 

    VENUE: ASIA, THE RITZ-CARLTON – MEGA KUNINGAN JAKARTA

New stalls coming in enriching the already complete International cuisine of Asia with dishes from Korea, India, shabu shabu, and variety of noodles available for lunch and dinner starting March 2012.
Not only that, Asia also presents daily different promotions and discounts as follow.
  1. On Monday those who work in tourism and hospitality industries are privileged for 20% discount on food and non-alcoholic drinks.
  2. Tuesday night would be the ladies night out! Enjoy the privilege of one person buffet dinner price for two people.
  3. Wednesday will see all the bookkeepers and secretaries enjoy their dinners only for IDR 200,000 nett including iced tea or iced lemon tea.
  4. Then came Thirsty Thursday where patrons can savor free flow of beers, cocktails, wines, house pours, and mojitos for two hours straight priced at IDR 250,000++.
  5. Friday would be the time to plunder the frutti di mare that consists of salmon, lobster, blue crab, and oysters at IDR 258,000++.
  6. Next would be the Hawkers buffet time for Saturday with delightful Peranakan cuisines such as bak kut teh, Singaporean chili crab, Hokkian noodles, and oyster eggs at IDR 258,000++.
  7. Last but not least, Sunday holds the Blues Brunch where you can enjoy luxurious lunch accompanied by legendary blues notes at IDR 258,000++.

  • SPRING ON YOUR PLATE 

    VENUE: EMILIE FRENCH RESTAURANT, JAKARTA
